Terms and Conditions – Sweeney Farm Glamping
Social Distancing - All visitors are advised to keep 2 metres apart from other guests that are not in your booking party.
Guests that have shown symptoms of Coronovirus in the 14 days prior to their arrival are kindly asked to stay at home and re-schedule their booking
Hand sanitiser is available in the safari tents and guests are advised to keep their hands thoroughly clean throughout their stay.

All bookings are accepted in good faith on behalf of the owners. In the extremely unlikely event of any occurrence resulting in the booking having to be cancelled the Owner`s liability shall be limited to the immediate return to the Hirer of all monies paid.
The customer must be at least 18 years of age and authorised to make the booking on behalf of all other members of the party. By making the booking the Customer confirms that he/she has read the terms and conditions.
When you receive your email confirmation of booking, you should check all details carefully. If anything is incorrect, the owner should be contacted immediately. The Owner cannot be held liable for any mistakes that arise from you giving incorrect booking details Once the confirmation email has been sent by the owner, the hirer is responsible for the total advertised price of the property and any extras as shown on the hire statement.
We require an initial deposit of £50 to secure your booking for a safari tent.
BOOKINGS ARE HELD FOR 24 HOURS. IF NO PAYMENT IS RECEIVED WITHIN THIS TIME DATES WILL BE RELEASED AND COULD BE BOOKED BY SOMEONE ELSE.
This deposit is non-refundable after 7 days from the date of booking. The deposit shall be provided at the time of booking. This is taken by a BACS payment, or by cheque payable to" H Edwards", confirmation of the booking will be given once the cheque has cleared.
The balance payment should be paid in full at least 7 days before commencement date, or if booking within 7 days of start date, payment must be given in full at the time of booking.
Please ensure payment is made on time as we may re- book as soon as the due date for payment has passed.
A condition of staying with us is that you look after the safari tent as if it were your own.
We reserve the right to invoice the person booking the holiday for any replacements and additional costs incurred that are discovered after departure.
We will do everything we reasonably can to honour our commitments to you, but you accept our maximum liability to you on any grounds whatsoever is limited to the amount you have paid to us prior to the problem arising.
If any payment due in relation to your booking is not paid by the appropriate date then we are entitled to assume that you wish to cancel your booking. In this case we will be entitled to keep any deposits paid to that date. The owner will normally send you a reminder to you before your booking is cancelled to the email address given on booking.
Check in is anytime after 4pm on day of arrival and by 10am on day of departure.
WE ASK THAT YOU CONTACT US AT LEAST A DAY PRIOR TO YOUR STAY WITH ESTIMATED ARRIVAL TIME.
IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO DO THIS, WE WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF YOU HAVE NOT CONTACTED US AND CANNOT GET INTO YOUR ACCOMODATION ON ARRIVAL.
PROPERTY CARE and VISITOR OBLIGATIONS
There is strictly no smoking within the safari tent and we request that all cigarette ends are disposed of in an appropriate manner.
You must leave the property in the same state of repair and the same tidy clean condition at the end of rental agreement as it was in the beginning. Any misuse of equipment will result in the liability of the cost of repair.
The owner has the right to enter the property at any reasonable time for the purpose of inspection/repairs, except in the case of emergency where quick access is vital, the Owner is entitled to enter without prior notice.
You agree that the accommodation is to be used for the purpose of the holiday let only. The booking agreement confers a right to occupy the accommodation for the agreed period only. You cannot sub- let the property or any part there of. Numbers of guests shall not exceed the number allowed in the property description unless already discussed with the Owner prior to arrival.
Sweeney Farm is a tranquil place, and we ask that you help keep it this way. You agree to prevent any member of your party from causing a nuisance or disturbance in or around the accommodation or the neighbouring properties. We request that noise is kept to a minimum between 11pm and 7am. In the event of such a problem arising, we reserve the right to require you to vacate the property on demand without payment of compensation to you.
Sweeney Farm is a working farm and all visitors must accept and take into consideration the nature of this 24hour, 7 days a week operation. There will be, at some times, noises and smells associated with the farm and countryside, although the Owner will endeavor to keep this to a minimum. The safari tents are approx. 100 metres away from the farm buildings and livestock.
The safari tents are situated in a one acre field and all visitors must stay within the boundary of this field and car parking area. At the back of the accommodation is a small wooded area complete with disused water reservoir. This area is fenced off and is strictly forbidden to enter by all visitors due to deep water. A public footpath cuts through the field and this gives access to walkers to the fields beyond and Sweeney Mountain. All visitors must keep to the public footpath in the rest of the fields. The field also has a large pond. Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times and going into the water is strictly forbidden for all visitors.
All visitors must avoid contact with the livestock. All visitors must not feed the animals. Visitors are advised to wash their hands before preparing/handling food if they have had contact with anything in the field.
Sweeney farm has direct access to the main trunk road A483. All drivers must proceed with caution when driving along the farm lane and when entering or exiting onto the A483.
The car park is situated approx. 70 metres from the accommodation and therefore all luggage must be taken on foot (help will be provided). Each safari tent is elevated to a height of 2.5 metres.
In the unlikely event of problems such as a power cut during your stay with us, or other events beyond our control , we shall use our reasonable endeavors to resolve the problem and keep you informed. However, for the avoidance of doubt, you accept, that is the extent of our liability.
Hot Tub rules
To ensure the safe and enjoyable use of the hot tub, we require all guests to read through and adhere to the following rules :-
- We do not advise use of the hot tub during pregnancy, please contact your doctor for advice before entering the water.
- People with skin, ear, genital or other body infections, open sores, or wounds should not use the hot tub because of the possibility of spreading infection or irritating your condition.
- Persons with heart disease, diabetes, low or high blood pressure, or any serious illness should not enter the hot tub without prior consultation with their doctor.
- Never use the hot tub while using or after using narcotics or other drugs that may cause sleepiness, drowsiness or raise/lower blood pressure.
- The heat of the hot tub water speeds up the effects of alcohol and can cause sleepiness, dizziness and unconsciousness.
- Avoid using the hot tub immediately after a heavy meal.
- Do not immerse your head in the hot tub water.
- Never use the hot tub alone.
- Take care when entering and leaving the hot tub. When leaving the hot tub leg muscles may be relaxed enough to make you unsteady.
- Never use glass near/in the hot tub. Plastic glasses are available in the accomodation.
- Do not use any electrical appliances near/in the hot tub.
- If any fault or damage occurs with the hot tub please contact a member of our team at the earliest convenient moment.
- Parents are advised that the hot tubs are not suitable for children under the age of four and to warn their children not to allow water in to their mouths as this can cause infection and illness.
- Shower before and after using the hot tub.
- Never allow children to use the spa or hot tub unsupervised and when not in use, make sure the cover is on and secured.
- Do not sit or walk on the hot tub cover. Any damage to the cover will have to paid for.
- Avoid entering the hot tub water immediately after exercising as the water temperature can affect the heart rate.
- Take care on the decking/hot tub steps as water from the tub can cause it to be slippery.
- If any allergic reaction occurs leave the hot tub and rinse off in the shower. If the reaction persists contact reception or go to a local doctor or A&E.
- Do not turn hot tub isolation switch off as the hot tub’s power needs to be turned on to carry out the cleaning cycles.
Note to parents and hot tub users
It is your responsibility to enforce the rules of safety within the house hot tub.
When you book in we will refer you to the hot tub safety document and this will give you further info on safety whilst using the hot tub, the document is in the Information Folder.
The life and health of you, your family and friends are important. Please practice safety and supervise your hot tub.
Please note – To comply with HSE regulations the hot tub water is checked every day.
We do not allow dogs or other pets in our properties.
Guests will be notified of any personal belongings left behind. All items can be returned to you at the cost of the postage. Once payment has been received ,
Because the nature of the safari tents, they are not totally secure and therefore all valuables should be locked away in your vehicle. Your belongings and Our property are your responsibility whilst you are staying in it. Please ensure all doors are closed and secured when you go out.
Please ensure that your cars are parked within your designated parking area and kept secure if left here. Guests park at their own risk.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Visitors are advised that the safari tents are raised off the ground to a maximum height of 8 feet. Care must be taken when using the stairs and visitors must not climb around the sides and back of the decking area. The ground may be uneven on the paths and grass areas and therefore care must be taken. There is strictly no entering the pond and all children must be supervised at all times near the water. Visitors are asked to stay within the boundary of the glamping site to prevent injury from deep water, animals and farm machinery. Visitors must take care when using the cooker/hob, log burner and firepit/BBQ to prevent burns. Heat resistant gloves are provided for tending to the log burner and firepit and must be used. The log burner door and fire guard must be kept closed and children must be supervised. Do not dry clothes on the fire guard. Visitors are advised to wash their hands before preparing and handling food if they have come into contact with the soil, water or any of the animals. The fire exit must be kept clear. Visitors must take care when entering or exiting from the main A483 trunk road and it is advised not to access the road unless it is clear of traffic from both ways.
CANCELLATION BY THE CUSTOMER
You may cancel within seven days of confirmation of your booking. If you do so, your deposit will be returned to you in full.
If written confirmation is received after seven days of your booking, we will attempt to re-let , although no guarantee of re-letting is given, if the owner is unable to re-let the property , you will remain responsible for the remaining balance. In the event of being able to re-let, the deposit and a £50.00 re letting charge ( to cover our time in re advertising) will be kept and the balance of any other money paid will be returned to the hirer.
We do advise that you take out your own holiday insurance cover in case you need to cancel.
CANCELLATION BY OWNER
In the very unlikely event that the Owner needs to change or cancel your booking, the Hirer will be contacted by telephone to discuss the problem as soon as it is reasonably practical. If able to, the Owner will offer another property at the same location, and time (if available), if the replacement property is accepted but more expensive, the hirer will not need to pay the difference. If the replacement property is a lower price, the owner will refund the difference in price. If the replacement property/time is not convenient, the booking will be cancelled and all monies received at that point will be returned to the hirer.
Under no circumstances will the Owner's liability exceed the rental paid for the safari tent.
ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA TO BRING WELLIES OR GOOD WALKING BOOTS AS THE SAFARI TENTS ARE SITED ON A FIELD.
